Journeys in the Microbial World
Welcome! The Lopez lab is located in the heart of the California capital along the American River at the California State University in Sacramento. We are interested in exploring how bacteria adapt to stress and changes in nutrient availability. Our lab primarily studies anaerobic bacteria, particularly those that live in the human intestines, and takes a multi-disciplinary approach that includes bacterial metabolism and genetics.
The goals of the Lopez lab are to train students in microbiology and molecular biology research and to promote diversity and inclusion of students in science.
